Overview
The official Imsfrane Cathedral geosite (GS-17) is a spectacular geological formation in the Tamga Biosphere Reserve. The 600-metre-long cliff at 1,872 metres altitude offers an exceptional geological and natural spectacle.
Imsfrane Cathedral is a spectacular limestone formation that owes its name to its resemblance to a Gothic cathedral. 600 metres long and reaching 1,872 metres altitude, this Jurassic limestone cliff is one of the most impressive in M'Goun Geopark. Located in the Tamga Biosphere Reserve, it is home to remarkable biodiversity — vultures, eagles, and endemic flora. The formation bears witness to the tectonic and erosive processes that shaped the High Atlas over millions of years.
