Guidelines for Visiting the Geopark
M'Goun Geopark attractions are mainly located in rural and mountainous areas of the High Atlas. Prepare yourself well for visiting this exceptional natural environment, and observe the following codes and safety guidelines.
M'Goun Geopark, awarded UNESCO Global Geopark status since 2014, covers a territory of 5,730 km² in the Moroccan High Atlas. Its 22 labelled geosites house geological, palaeontological and cultural heritage of exceptional universal value. Preserving this heritage is a shared responsibility between geopark managers, local communities and visitors.
By visiting M'Goun Geopark, you directly contribute to the sustainable development of local communities and the preservation of irreplaceable natural and cultural heritage. We thank you for respecting these guidelines so that future generations can also enjoy these geological treasures.

Sightseeing Rules
11 rules
- 1
Do not deface anything with graffiti, or damage or take away any rocks, fossils or minerals. Any collection of geological specimens is strictly prohibited without official scientific authorisation.

Do not disturb or harm wildlife. The geopark is home to protected species (Barbary sheep, Bonelli's eagle, Thuriferous juniper).
